Majid Michel Ghanaian Actor who is now a pastor shows off his new car of 40,000USD on instagram

Majid Michel is a good actor. To me, he is the best
actor in Ghana, that’s my opinion as you can have
yours.
However, there is a saying hard work pays and that’s
exactly what Majid is proving. On the photo-laden
mobile app, the actor cum man of God posted a picture
of his newly acquired Audi A5 coupe, which per
Ghpage.com‘s investigations cost around 40,000USD.
Majid is not just an actor or a man of God but owns
another conglomerate.
“The definition of a revolution is to take an existing
situation which has proved to be unworkable, archaic,
impractical and out of date. you seek to destroy it, and
overthrow it and to replace it with a system that works.
The whole basis of the Scripture is that the human
order is archaic, impractical, it is no good, it is infested
with demonic power, with sin, racism, hate, envy,
jealousy, pride and war. The whole existing human
order is infested with ungodliness. And the whole
purpose of Christ coming into the world was to
overthrow the demonic human system and to establish
his own kingdom in the hearts of men. Allow me to
quote for you 1 Corinthians ?1:28?:
“He has chosen things low and contemptible, mere
nothings, to overthrow the existing order” (NEB). That’s
the Word of God. Jesus was dangerous because he
was changing the system. The whole Roman Empire
was shaking. But no shots were being fired, no bombs
were being thrown, He had no guns, no tanks, and no
ammunition.
And, of all the things, he went around preaching a thing
called the kingdom of God. But some things started
happening. Blind people started seeing, Lame people
started walking, people started getting liberated
mentally and physically, homes started being put back
together. After all these good things yet with one voice
they cried out, “Give us Barabbas!” The question is,
why Barabbas and not Jesus? Barabbas is the dude
burning buildings down, he is killing people.
Why him instead of Jesus? Simple. cos if you let
Barabbas go, you can always stop him. The most
Barabbas will do is go out, round up another bunch of
guerrillas and start another riot. And you will always
stop him by rolling your police cars into his
neighborhood, bringing out the National Guard, putting
his riot down, find out where he is keeping his
ammunition, raid his apartment without a search
warrant and shoot him while he is still asleep.
You can stop Barabbas. But how do you stop Jesus?
He’s only talking to the people with WORDS. Barabbas
thinks burning Buildings will burn the system. Buildings
don’t make the system. People make the system.
When the mind of the people is changed, the system is
changed!!! #LEADERSHiP”.

Aki on stage publicly said People should leave Pawpaw and I alone

Chinedu Ikedieze a.k.a Aki, is a unique comic actor,
best known for acting alongside his look-alike, Osita
Iheme in most movies has cleared the air on the
controversy surrounding his quarrel with his screen-
twin, Pawpaw, his family among other issues.
You look mischievous in most of the characters you
play in movies. What’s your disposition? I’m just
myself, Chinedu Ikedieze, MFR. Knowing who I am and
where I’m coming from, helped to build the basics of
my personality.
I’m just being professional. Besides, I can only be
someone else in a movie.
Did you become an actor by accident? Primarily, I
wanted to be a doctor or a lawyer. Somehow, fate
played a smart one on me and I found myself riding in
a more benign career (becoming an actor).
During your fight with Osita, were you at any time,
paired in any movie, how did you pull through acting
with someone you were not in good terms with? We’ve
never fought before! But your relationship with him is
not cordial as it used to be..?
Again, I say, we’ve never had any fight! Osita is my
friend and brother and still remains that. I really don’t
no where all these information are emanating from.
People should just leave us alone. You guys are always
creating unimaginable things. To clear up any
misconceptions you might still have, please watch out
for Aki and Pawpaw live in UK this summer.
You’ve been at the centre of some harsh rumours; your
rumoured death, and separation from your wife, how
would you say the media has treated you?
Well, thank God you’re talking to me now and not my
photocopy. It’s unfortunate that’s the kind of
journalism some unscrupulous elements are practicing
now. When every Tom, Dick and Harry is a blogger
what do you expect. But then, for the very professional
ones, they’ve treated me nicely and as best as they
can. I remain grateful to them. So, what has kept your
marriage going? Grace! Is your wife still comfortable
with your career as an actor. Has she had reasons to
be jealous watching you in a romantic movie ? There’s
no problem with that. The presence of a father in the
home is priceless, how do you make up for the time
you spend on locations? When I am not on location,
I’m home doing my duties as the father of the house.

Gunman Calling Himself ‘Black Jesus’ Goes on Rampage, Shoots Strangers Dead on the Street (Photos)

A man calling himself ‘Black Jesus’ has
gone haywire, gunning people down on the
street in a mission to ‘kill white people’.
Kori Ali Muhammad
Kori Ali Muhammad, a gunman who
nicknamed himself ‘Black Jesus’ shot and
killed three strangers in a bid to kill as
many white people as possible, police said.
According to Metro UK, during his
rampage, Kori Ali Muhammad, 39, first
walked up to a lorry and shot the man
sitting in the passenger seat. He shot at
another and missed, then hit a 37-year-old
man walking on a pavement as he carried
groceries.
The final victim was shot dead in the car
park of a charity building. They were shot
seconds apart at around 10.45am yesterday
in Fresno, California.
As he was arrested he shouted ‘Allahu
Akbar’ – God is great – but police said the
shootings had ‘nothing to do with terrorism in
spite of the statement he made.
‘This is solely based on race.’
Muhammad, who is black, fired 16 rounds
in less than two minutes at four places
within a block, shooting white men who
simply appeared to be going about their
daily business, police said.
Fresno police chief Jerry Dyer said: ‘These
individuals who were chosen today did not do
anything to deserve what they got. These were
unprovoked attacks by an individual that was
intent on carrying out homicides today. He did
that.’
The scene of the incident
Police had put out a news release hours
before the shootings Tuesday, saying that
Muhammad was armed and dangerous and
wanted over the shooting death of a
security guard at a Motel 6 last week.
The guard, 25-year-old Carl Williams, was
white.
Muhammad told officers who arrested him
that he was the man they were looking for,
Mr Dyer said, saying: ‘I did it. I shot them.’
Police are searching for the revolver
Muhammad said he threw into a pile of
clothing.
Muhammad faces four counts of murder
and at least two additional charges of
assault with a deadly weapon.
On what appeared to be his Facebook page,
he repeatedly posted ‘#LetBlackPeopleGo’
and encouraged ‘black warriors’ to ‘mount
up’.
He wrote that his ‘kill rate increases
tremendously on the other side’ and also
posted about ‘white devils’.
Muhammad has a criminal history that
includes arrests on weapons, drugs and
false imprisonment charges and making
terrorist threats.
He had been associated with gangs but he
was not a confirmed member, police say.
Muhammad was charged in 2005 with
possessing cocaine with intent to distribute,
court records show.
Federal prosecutors said at the time that he
was also in possession of a 9mm semi-
automatic handgun and two rifles after
being convicted of a felony.
He claimed insanity and his lawyer
requested a psychiatric examination, saying
Muhammad ‘appeared eccentric with some
bizarre beliefs’.
A psychiatrist who examined Muhammad
believed he had psychosis, his lawyer said
in the court filing.
He also ‘suffered auditory hallucinations and had
at least two prior mental health hospitalisations’,
according to court documents.
Police said his former name was Cory
McDonald and a woman who identified
herself as Taylor’s grandmother said the
family last saw him on Easter Sunday.

Ambrose Alli University Lecturers Belonging to a Deadly Cult Group Arrested with Guns (Photo)

Policemen in Edo state have arrested
several lecturers including a professor for
belonging to a cult group.
Double-barrel and single-barrel gun recovered by
the police
The Edo State Police Command said it
arrested some lecturers of the Ambrose Ali
University, Ekpoma for allegedly engaging
in cult-related activities, Punch reports.
According to information revealed by the
Commissioner of Police, Haliru Gwandu in
Benin on Tuesday, firearms were also
recovered from the arrested academics.
Gwandu also said that among those
arrested was a professor, from whom a
double-barrel gun, single-barrel gun and
one pump action gun were allegedly
recovered.
The police commissioner said, “The professor
was arrested. He was granted bail. The case is
under investigation.”
Gwandu’s statement came less than a week
after the command refuted reports that its
operatives allegedly brutalised the Dean of
the Faculty of Law of the university, Prof.
Sunday Edeko.
The commissioner expressed displeasure
over the high rate of cultism around the
institution located in Esan West Local
Government Area, which he said had
claimed many lives.
He said there had been distress calls from
members of the university community that
cult groups were unleashing mayhem in
the area.
“It was a distress call from the community; the
university community made a call that cult groups
were killing and they killed so many.
“And at the time when they (policemen) went to
inspect a site, they discovered more than 14
beheaded students at that particular time,” he
said.
He, however, vowed that the police would ensure
that the leaders and members of cult groups in the
area were arrested and charged to court.
Gwandu said, “We have a lot of issues with that
particular university. There are some senior
lecturers that were apprehended with firearms.
“So, we are going to arrest those who are
mentoring and those who are real cultists and
charge them to court. There is no going back.”

The organization also called on Buhari to “ensure legal backing for his government’s whistle-blowing policy by vigorously pursuing the passing by the National Assembly of the Whistle-blower Bill”

In the aftermath of the controversy surrounding
the ownership of the N13 billion ($43.4 million,
N23 million and £27,000) found by the Economic
and Financial Crimes Commission at the Osborne
Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos, the Socio-Economic Rights
and Accountability Project has urged President
Muhammadu Buhari to “urgently address country
on the matter so as to clarify the issue, and
resolve lingering doubts among Nigerians
regarding the real owner(s) of the cash”.gf
The organization also called on Buhari to “ensure
legal backing for his government’s whistle-
blowing policy by vigorously pursuing the
passing by the National Assembly of the Whistle-
blower Bill”.
Both Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and
the National Intelligence Agency last week
claimed ownership of the cash.
In a statement today by SERAP’s Executive
Director, Adetokunbo Mumuni, the organization
said: “The government’s increasing reliance on
whistle-blowers’ tips to fight corruption has to be
backed by some level of transparency and
accountability in the real identities of those
claiming recovered cash. Clearing the doubts
surrounding the real identities of those behind the
Ikoyi cash haul would demonstrate that the
president values transparency over secrecy,
provide further encouragement to blow the
whistle on governmental corruption, and enhance
the public right to know.
“Democracy abhors secrecy, and for Nigerians to
be able to hold elected leaders accountable, they
must have access to information such as on the
real identities of those behind the Ikoyi cash haul.
This transparency is fundamental to the
operation of the government’s whistle-blower
policy, and inextricably rooted in the notions of
good governance and the rule of law under the
1999 Nigerian constitution (as amended).”
The statement reads in part: “No good comes
from secrecy in governance, as officials who
have become accustomed to operating without
accountability are loath to relinquish the power
that comes from conducting their business
without public scrutiny. When public authorities
resist efforts to shine a light on their activities, it
gives the impression that there is something to
hide. It’s counter-productive to overstate national
security based secrecy needs, as secrecy
encourages poorly informed and under-vetted
decision-making.
“Public scrutiny is a prerequisite for changing
harmful, entrenched practices. Rather than
operating the whistle-blowers policy as hidden,
mysterious mechanism at the far edge of
democracy, this government should make the
operation of policy more transparent and
accessible to the public. Both transparency and
accountability are necessary to uphold the rights
of victims of corruption and ensure that
suspected perpetrators are held to account. The
‘sky will not fall’ if the true identities of those
behind the Ikoyi cash haul are revealed.
“It’s clear that as the EFCC continues to uncover
more suspected looted or ill-gotten cash, those
blowing the whistle will need greater level of
protection. But without outlawing retaliation and
attacks against whistle-blowers, and taking a
firm stance on protecting them, the incentive of
bounty rewards would be negated, as potential
whistle-blowers may be discouraged from
performing invaluable public interest service.
“It shouldn’t be the case that the government
knows the risks of whistle-blowing and yet fails
to provide the needed legal protection against
retaliation and attacks, regardless of whether
whistle-blowers are entitled to bounties.
“The policy of giving whistle-blowers some
percentage of recovered loot would seem to be a
game changer in the fight against corruption but
this government now has to squarely address the
significant risks that those who blow the whistle
face by urgently working with the National
Assembly to ensure the necessary legal backing
that would ensure protection against reprisals
and attacks.
“The government should ensure that the National
Assembly expedites the process of passing the
Whistle-Blower Bill, as ensuring that the bill is
passed without further delay would recognize the
necessity of whistleblowers and the value they
add to the anti-corruption fight by reporting
otherwise unknown corruption-related
information. It would also ensure that whistle-
blowers are fully protected from any retaliation
and attacks they may experience, and that the
government fully appreciates the information
they provide.
“Continuing delay in the passing of the Whistle-
Blower Bill would have a chilling effect on
potential whistleblowers and hinder the public’s
ability to learn about the kind of cash haul found
in Ikoyi and elsewhere across the country. It’s
also contrary to Article 33 of the UN Convention
on Corruption, which Nigeria has ratified. The
convention obligates the government to put in
place appropriate measures to provide protection
against any unjustified treatment for any person
who reports in good faith and on reasonable
grounds to the competent authorities any facts
concerning offences established in accordance
with the convention.”

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos Looters burying stolen funds in forests, burial grounds – FG

The Federal Government says its anti-corruption
agencies have been inundated with information
of how looters have resorted to burying stolen
funds in their backyards, deep forests and burial
grounds.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji
Lai Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement
issued on Sunday in Lagos.
Mohammed said the whistle blower policy is
working and has led to the recovery of more
looted funds in many currencies.
Mohammed assured in a statement signed by his
Special Adviser, Segun Adeyemi, that all the
recovered looted funds were safe and
government will give full account to Nigerians.
The minister thanked Nigerians for their
enthusiasm and commitment in helping the
government to tackle corruption through
disclosure of useful leads to appropriate
government agencies.
Mohammed said: “Since we launched the whistle
blower policy, we have received immeasurable
support from Nigerians.
“Yes, there is monetary reward for any
information that leads to recovery of looted
funds, but from what we have seen; most of the
Nigerians who have come forward with useful
leads were driven by patriotism rather than
reward.
“Nigerians, fired by a fervid resolve to help
banish corruption from
their country, have daily inundated the offices of
the appropriate
government agencies with valuable information.
“We have been told how looters have resorted to
burying stolen funds in their backyards, in deep
forests and even in burial grounds.
“Thanks to whistle-blowers, it is now clear that a
rapacious few have pillaged the nation’s wealth
through a vicious orgy of corrupt practices.”
The minister, however, noted that more funds
were in the possession of looters than were
available to government at all levels to meets its
obligations, including paying workers’ salaries
and providing social amenities.
Mohammed stressed that the government will
not abandon the policy for whatever reason, but
will continue to rejig it and make it more effective
as a tool for fighting corruption.
The minister assured that as soon as the
necessary reconciliation process and the
litigation in some of the cases were concluded,
government would give full account of the
recovered looted funds to Nigerians.
Mohammed re-assured Nigerians who have
useful information on looted funds that the
government will protect their identities and give
them their stipulated reward.

FBI declares Nigerian wanted over $5m fraud + photos

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has declared
wanted a Nigerian, Kelechi Declan James, in
connection with a $5 million fraud.
The FBI issued the notice on April 14, 2017 in a
message on its website.
It promised a $1,000 reward for useful
information that leads to the arrest of James.
James was said to have perpetrated the crime in
connection with others via email.
They were said to have swindled several
persons, with James’ role as the collector of the
funds from the accounts into which the money is
wired.
The FBI notice, titled: FBI Seeking Public
Assistance Locating Kelechi Declan James,
Offering $1,000 Reward for Information That
Leads to Arrest,” added a rider: “James is
Wanted on Federal Criminal Charges Relating to
a Fraudulent E-Mail Scheme That Resulted in
Victim Losses of More Than $5 Million.”
The declaration reads: “FBI agents are looking
for the public’s assistance in locating Kelechi
Declan James. He has federal criminal charges
against him from an investigation by FBI New
York’s Cyber Crime Task Force. James is known
to frequent the Brooklyn neighborhoods of East
New York (Crescent Street and Loring Avenue;
Vermont Street between Blake Avenue and
Dumont Avenue), Brownsville, Bedford-
Stuyvesant (MacDougal and Hull Streets), Crown
Heights (Park Place and Utica Avenue), Flatbush
(E 29th and Avenue D), and East Flatbush (East
51st and Winthrop Street). The FBI is offering a
$1,000 reward for information that leads to his
arrest.
“James is 32 years old, 6’0″ tall, and
approximately 175 pounds. He is a Nigerian
national, has brown eyes and black hair, and may
have a beard. Anyone with information as to the
whereabouts of James is urged to contact law
enforcement immediately. The FBI can be
reached 24 hours a day at (212) 384-1000. He is
not considered to be violent in nature.
“As alleged in a complaint sworn out of the U.S.
District Court for the Southern District of New
York, James, along with four other co-
conspirators, ran a business e-mail compromise
scheme that resulted victim losses of more than
$5 million for their victims.
“As part of scheme, James and his co-
conspirators defrauded victims across the U.S.
by tricking them into wiring money to bank
accounts the victims believed were owned by
family members, friends, or business associates.
They did this in two ways: by overtaking an e-
mail account of an individual trusted by the
victim and then requesting money be wired to a
bank account; or by developing a relationship of
trust with victim like an Internet romance and
then asking the victim to wire money. As soon as
the money was wired, it would be moved from
one account to another, and the funds would be
withdrawn. James’s role in this scheme was to
withdraw the money from bank accounts.”

Gunmen kill Nigerian journalist

Some Unidentified gunmen on Sunday killed a
journalist, Famous Giobaro, the Bayelsa State
Police Command has confirmed.
Giobaro, staff of state-owned Glory FM 97.1,
was killed by the gunmen in his residence at
INEC Road, Kpasia in Yenagoa, the state capital.
The Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer,
Asinim Butswat, said the command was yet to
get the full detail.
A witness said the gunmen stormed Giobaro’s
apartment within a bungalow at about 5am on
Sunday and shot him point blank on the
stomach.
The attackers had gained access into the
compound after scaling the fence with a ladder.
They went straight to Giobaro’s kitchen door,
shot at it and pulled it down to enter the
journalist’s bedroom.
Two unidentified men who slept in the apartment
with Giobaro were said to have hidden in the
wardrobe and toilet when the gunmen entered.
The attackers did not steal anything and they did
not attack other occupants of the bungalow,
triggering speculations they could be assassins.
The Bayelsa State Council of the Nigeria Union of
Journalists described the attack as shocking.
The NUJ Chairman, John Angese, and Secretary,
Stanley Imgbi, said Giobaro’s death was a huge
loss to the union.
The union asked the Police to investigate the
incident and bring the perpetrators of the
dastardly act to book.

Expectations high Naira will firm up more with Dollar requests declining Indications of excessive liquidity in the market emerged on Thursday last week when operators could only pick a little over $39 million out of the $100 million offered for bid by the apex bank Share this:

The efforts of the Central Bank of Nigeria aimed
at ensuring stability in the foreign exchange
market may have started yielding results as the
market is now awash with liquidity surfeit.
Indications of excessive liquidity in the market
emerged on Thursday last week when operators
could only pick a little over $39 million out of the
$100 million offered for bid by the apex bank.
According to market analysts, with this
development, the Naira is set to firm up against
major currencies like the Dollar and pound
sterling during the week.
It will be recalled that the Central Bank of Nigeria
last week opened a special window for to enable
Small and Medium Enterprises to access forex
for the importation of eligible finished and semi-
finished items not exceeding $20,000 for an
enterprise per quarter.
That was in addition to the special intervention in
the Bureau De Change segment of the foreign
exchange market, which resulted in each
operator accessing $20,000 as against the earlier
stipulated $10,000 per week.
Isaac Okorafor, the CBN spokesman, explained
the Bank’s special interventions were
necessitated by its findings that a large number
of SMEs were being crowded out of the forex
space by large firms and also service genuine
demand for invincible like tuition fees, medical
and personal/basic travel allowance.

NAFDAC to sensitise farmers, food outlets on poisonous cassava The NAFDAC Director, Special Duties, Dr. Abubakar Jimoh, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Sunday, said operators of fast food outlets in both states would also be trained

The National Agency for Food and Drug
Administration and Control says arrangements
are on to sensitise farmers in Kogi and Ondo
States on how to handle food chain from the
farms to consumers’ table.
The NAFDAC Director, Special Duties, Dr.
Abubakar Jimoh, who spoke to the News Agency
of Nigeria in Abuja on Sunday, said operators of
fast food outlets in both states would also be
trained.
NAN reports that the sensitisation is coming on
the heels of the death of nine people after
consuming “amala” meal made from poisonous
cassava flour.
The incident occurred in Ogaminana, Adavi Local
Government Area of Kogi state in November,
2016.
Jimoh explained that NAFDAC had carried out
investigation into the incident with a view to
addressing the problem.
He added that some people also consumed
poisonous beans in some places.
Jimoh said the agency had taken statistics of
farmers and operators of all food outlets in both
states that would participate in a workshop to be
organised by the agency.
According to him, they will be trained on how to
handle critical aspects of food chain from the
farms to consumers’ table.
Jimoh said: “We shall train farmers on the best
practices and the correct way of applying
fertilisers, herbicides, pesticides and other
chemicals for storage of their harvests.
“We will also teach farmers how to dry their
produce because they often spread them on the
express way where such are exposed to
contamination and it is hazardous to the health
of members of the public.
“Though, this is not part of the mandate of
NAFDAC as we deal mainly with processed
foods, but we cannot close our eyes in a matter
that affects peoples’ health.”

What I know about Andy Uba’s alleged certificate forgery – School Principal

Recently, Senator Andy Uba has been plagued by
allegations that his West African Examinations
Council certificate was forged. Uba, a member of
the All Progressives Congress, having defected
from the Peoples Democratic Party, has been
accused by Victor Uwajeh, a private investigator
and lawyer, of forging his WASSCE after claiming
that the senator defaulted in paying his fees, which
supposedly comes up to £1.9 million. Reverend
Ifeanyi Eze, the Principal of Union Secondary
School, Awkunanaw, Enugu, formerly known as
Boys High School, Awkunanaw, has spoken on the
controversy. Excerpts:
Is this Union Secondary School or Boys High
School, Awkunanaw?
This is Union Secondary School, Awkunanaw,
formerly known as Boys High School
Awkunanaw. Any record with both names is
valid.
Are you aware of the certificate scandal against
Senator Andy Uba and the claim by Victor
Uwajeh that his result from Union High School is
fake?
I am fully aware of the certificate scandal and I
have read in the news and social media that he
has certificate bearing two names. The name of
the school was formerly Union Secondary
School, but was changed immediately after the
war to Boys High School, Awkunanaw, Enugu. It
was later changed back to Union Secondary
School when churches were given back the
permission to own and run schools.
Did Senator Uba attend this school?
I speak authoritatively that according to history,
when Senator Andy Uba was here as a student,
the former Senate President, Senator Ken
Nnamami, was the Senior Prefect. There are
evidence that he was a student of this school. He
was here with the likes of Senator Gilbert Nnaji
and only him has the original certificate. Please
use this medium to inform him that we need to
feel his impact as an old boy of this school. This
great school produced Senator Ken Nnamani,
Senator Andy Uba, General Ndiefo and many
other prominent Nigerians.
Did anyone approach you for Senator Uba’s
record?
Yes, some people came to ask for his records,
but I refused to give it out because it is unethical
and against the law. They promised me huge
money, but I said over my dead body. I can’t
give out his record. The only person that has the
sole right to get the record is Senator Andy Uba
himself. If anyone wants his record they should
go to WAEC. If I issue any record without his
knowledge, it is a crime. I have known the Uba
family for long. I was very close to their late
mother while serving as a Parish Priest. Their
mother loved me so much that she willed a car to
me like a son. I know Senator Andy Uba as a
quiet man though we were not close and I am
sure he doesn’t know me either. His late mother
was a good woman.
What do you know about Senator Uba?
Andy is my old boy. I will not disown him
because he has not visited his alma matter. Let
the world know that all information in the media
about his certificate and other record was not
gotten from Union Secondary School. No human
has his record except he himself.

Mob didn’t attack our personnels for bribe taking – FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps has denied that
its personnels were attacked by a mob in
Anambra State for demanding bribe from
commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as
okada.
The position of the FRSC was contained in a
statement by its spokesman, Bisi Kazeem.
Kazeem said the incident in Ichida, Anambra
State was that of a commercial motorcyclist who
ran into a normal patrol of the FRSC and tried to
flee, but fell down.
He said those who were sympathetic to the
cause of the okada man then mobilized to attack
the FSRC officials.
Kazeem said: “His fall attracted sympathy from
miscreants and other okada men who then
seized the opportunity to mob the personnel.”

CSNAC petitions EFCC, seeks prosecution of defaulting contractors in Niger Delta

The Civil Society Network Against Corruption,
which is a coalition of over 150 anti-corruption
organizations, has urged the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission to commence the
prosecution of some defaulting contractors on
projects in the Niger Delta region.
In a petition forwarded to the anti-graft agency,
signed by its Chairman, Olanrewaju Suraju,
CSNAC said it is furnishing the commission with
a list of some of the projects after its on-the-
spot-assessment of the projects.
The petition reads: “You will recall that during the
Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo’s visit to
Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on the 10th day of
February, 2017 following a peace mission to
Niger Delta, he gave assurances of the Federal
Government’s commitment to the rapid
development of oil producing communities in the
Niger Delta.
“In addition to the above, the Acting President
stated at a town hall meeting in furtherance of
his fact-finding mission in Benin City, Edo State
that defaulting contractors who were meant to
handle the failed and abandoned projects in the
Niger Delta region will face prosecution, as a
reiteration of the Federal Government’s
commitment to a new way of doing things,
especially in the oil producing communities and
other parts of the country.
“It is in line with the above that we hereby
furnish your commission with our on-the-spot
assessment report and demand your independent
investigation and the prosecution of all
contractors who had been duly mobilized by the
federal government in respect of some relevant
education, health, electrification and road works
project in different communities in the Niger
Delta.”
The projects defaulted on is found in education,
health, electrification and road works in different
communities in the Niger Delta.
Among the projects are Federal Science
Technical College, Ahoada; renovation of Kugbo
Primary School, Rivers State; Omuma Oroyo
Health Centre, Cross Rivers State; and Ediba-
Itigidi Bridge, Cross Rivers State, among others.
CSNAC noted further that the call for the
prosecution of the said contractors is in line with
the Federal Government’s professed zero
tolerance for corrupt practices of neglect,
abandoned or outright refusal to carry out
projects for which mobilization were received.
The prosecution of the contractors will send a
strong message to all contractors handling
government projects on the need to ensure that
projects are carried out diligently and with the
required commitment, CSNAC said.
The coalition said the projects have been
abandoned within the current status range of 5
per cent to 60 per cent completion rate, while
there are also some isolated cases of non-
existent projects.
“We hereby demand that contractors found to be
in default be made scape goats in other to
sanitize the system and rid same of greedy
individuals who sabotage federal government’s
efforts at boosting the infrastructural
development of the country, thus depriving
citizens of the dividends of democracy,” CSNAC
said.

I Have Never Been Married – BBNaja’s Bisola

BBNaija’s Bisola, has come out to debunk
claims she was once married.
Recall, there were rumors, that the mom of
one, was left at the altar, a claim she has
refuted saying:

“I have never been
married and I have
never been to the
altar.”

On if she is in any relationship now:

“A relationship would
come when the time is
right and there are
certain things that you
do not force. I would
not bother myself with
a relationship because
my main aim is to be
successful and take
care of my family very
well. That alone is a
good driving force,
along the line, it
would come. Are you
telling me that
successful people do
not find love? They do,
even when they are
really successful. I
would not force it
because it is not
something I would
force. It is going to be
a gentle and slow
process,” she said

“There is no bad blood
between Thin Tall
Tony and I but I have
to respect the
institution of holy
matrimony. I did not
know that he was
married, I found out
when we left the
house and I have to
respect his wife. If
there is work to do,
we would attack it
professionally. I went
into the house to have
fun and not to brew a
relationship. TTT and I
would be friends
outside the show but I
am not looking for a
relationship from
him,” Bisola said.

On her plans to return to school, Bisola told
Saturday Beats;

“I have plans to go
back to school and I
would love to major in
something that I am
really passionate
about which is film
production. It took me
nine years to get to
the Big Brother house.
I had been auditioning
for nine years and
finally I was in the
house. That is
winning. Getting into
that house after years
of struggle is winning
for me, making it to
the finals was a big
win for me even
though I did not go
home with the
money.”

In order to curb the cases rising cases of road accidents in the country, the FRSC has decided to introduce a new initiative. Officials of the FRSC The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Boboye Oyeyemi has said that private vehicle owners should get ready to have speed limit device in their cars. He noted that the speed limit device has been able to reduce accidents caused by the commercial vehicles. Speaking via telephone on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, he said that “The commission to a certain level has reduced the crashes caused by the commercial vehicles”. The FRSC boss disclosed that he is targeting the private vehicle owners, noting that the accident rates from private cars are on the increase. “The private vehicle owners should be ready from me as from May”. He further added that the commission is backed legally and by Nigerians, if taken to court by the private vehicle owners.

Veteran artiste, Stella Monye, in a new
interview with The Sun, has called out to
Nigerians’ to help with her son’s surgery.
Stella, who was popular for hit track, Oko
Mi Ye, opened up on her son’s medical
odyssey, her pains, travails and hopes
amidst despondency.
Genesis
I had been part of the artistes working on
the theme song for the Coca Cola FIFA
World Junior Championship tagged:
“Nigeria 99” held in Abuja. The theme song
eventually became an integral part of the
game. Before then, I had gone on other
national assignments including the
Horizontel World Festival of Arts held in
Berlin, German. We toured Sabrieaken,
Hanover, Bonn, Bremen, Geneva, and
Amsterdam courtesy of the Centre for
Cultural Studies, Universities of Lagos. It
was a cultural exchange programme.
Shortly after that, I embarked on another
assignment to Yamouskoro, Abidjan for the
Universities Games where I sang the
Nigerian national anthem. The next
assignment came when there was an
audition to pick an artiste to represent the
country at the 150th anniversary of
Abolition of Slave Trade in the Diaspora
held in Guyana. This also fell on my lap
and I toured the Islands of Caribbean.
Those on the entourage of that memorable
event included former Head of State,
General Yakubu Gowon (retd) and his wife,
Victoria; Prince Tony Momoh; Senator
Chris Anyanwu and Lt. Tunde Akogun. I
was the lead vocalist of a band which
consisted of Bisade Ologunde (Lagbaja),
Zeal Onyia, Peter King, Remi Kabaka and
others that performed at the event. The
Atilogu cultural group was also on the
tour.
Sad news
I was neck deep in the preparation for
“Nigeria 99” project in Abuja when the
news came to me that my son, Ibrahim had
fallen off from the top of a water tank and
landed on a sharp rusted iron, which
severely damaged his urethra. In fact, I
was on my way together with other artistes
to present the theme song to the then Head
of State, General Abdusalam Abubakar at
the Aso Rock Villa when my phone rang
and the sad news was broken to me.
I thought it was a minor accident so, I
advised that they take him to any nearest
hospital. But that was the beginning of the
drama.
Thinking it was a minor accident; I
proceeded on tour of the country with the
theme song, under the leadership of the
late Christy Essien Igbokwe who was then
the President of the Performing Musicians
Association of Nigeria (PMAN). I came back
from the tour only to discover that the first
operation had been carried out at the
General Hospital, Ikeja, which at that time
was in a deplorable condition. So, Christy
Igbokwe advised that we should take him
to Holy Trinity Hospital, Ikeja owned by
her friend, who also owned Chrisland
Primary School that my son attended.
Surgery
The doctors at Holy Trinity Hospital
performed two major but unsuccessful
operations on Ibrahim. This prompted me
to open up to the Medical Director of the
hospital who told me that I could go to
India or partronise another professional
Urologist based in Opebi, Ikeja.
At this point, I was overwhelmed and I
cried out to Nigerians. I teamed up with
my colleagues like K1 De Ultimate, Daddy
Showkey, Orits Wiliki, Pasuma Wonder,
Onyeka Onwenu and Lagbaja, and together
we walked the streets of Lagos, creating
awareness about my son’s condition, most
especially, on television. Nigerians
responded but some fraudsters, who
pretended to be assisting us to raise funds,
hijacked the exercise. So, I instructed that
the campaign should stop, but then I was
more concerned about my son’s
predicament and so we forged ahead.
More surgeries
Many more unsuccessful operations
followed at Urology Centre, Opebi, Lagos.
This made me to withdraw tactically and
re-strategize. Later, with some help and
recommendations, we headed for Medanta
Global Hospital, Gorgon Haryana, New
Delhi, India where we recorded another
failed surgery. On arrival in Lagos, I
phoned Dr Guptar and lamented to him. He
asked us to come back to India, but at this
point, I was almost giving up.
Desperation
Out of desperation, I spoke to some people
in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria. I also
went to Abuja to meet Senator Oluremi
Tinubu who said I should take Ibrahim to
LASUTH. She equally advised me to
approach the government of the day for
assistance. I took her advice; I approached
the then Lagos State government for help
but to no avail. I also spoke to other people
but eventually I took Ibrahim to LASUTH
and later Federal Staff Hospital, Abuja. The
Consultant Urologists at both hospitals
examined and referred him to Germany
and also United States of America for
further treatment.
I contacted Dr Michael Straub, Medical
Director, Rechts Der Isar Medical Centre,
Munich, Germany and I was referred to Dr
Gomih, Medical Director, Urology Centre,
Indiana, USA, because I was told he had
just handled a similar case. I contacted
both doctors and they asked me to do some
tests, which I did and sent to them.
However, I was shocked when they gave
me a bill of $35,000. I appealed to Dr
Gomih for sympathy but he said there was
nothing he could do because complications
had set in. Yes, indeed, my son had
suffered some setbacks with some of his
vital organs like the left kidney, bladder
and urethra severely damaged after
returning from India.
Appeal
Urgently now, we need about $50,000 US
Dollars for Ibrahim’s surgery. I know the
money is much or seems much but no
amount of money is worth any child’s life.
However, I am grateful to Governor
Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State who
has been sustaining my son’s life pending
when we are able to go for his surgery.

2000 Children Escape Death as U.J Esuene Stadium Collapses in Calabar (Photos)

About 2000 students who were
participating in a competition escaped a
fatal fate at the collapse of a stadium which
their games were supposed to be held.
The indoor sport hall of the U.J Usuene
Stadium has collapsed after a torrential
rainfall hits Calabar on Friday.
The part of the stadium was under
construction for over two years and the
contract was awarded by Former Governor
Liyel Imoke to Uzuola Giwa-Amu. A
contractor who absconded with nothing
less than 2.5 Billion Naira.
Pictures released by the Director General of
Sport Commission, Orok Duke, shows that
the whole structure built to house at least
50 thousand people has only 8mm rods in
the pillars and deckings platforms.
The structure which collapsed this
afternoon, happened at a time when the
children competition taking place in the
stadium was suspended to observe the
Easter Holiday. According to Orok Duke,
more than 2000 children would have been
crushed to death.
The shady side of the story is that
Governor Ben Ayade is aware of the
dubious contract and how it was a drain
pipe project of the Liyel Imoke
admimistration, but has refused to order
an investigation into it.
NEMA has called the State after hearing the
sad development, but were relieved to note
that no life was lost in the collapsed
building.
I will be looking into a legal suit against the
Cross River State government for
remaining quiet over this dangerous
project. I will be suing the State
government of gross negligence, abuse of
public trust, and lack of political will to
order an investigation into this scam and
to bring the contractor to book. I will be
petitioning the contractor to the EFCC to
return all monies dubiously gained through
this contract.
A little investigation has revealed that the
said contractor is now living a multi
billionaire splendid lifestyles in Ghana and
UK were he bought choicest buildings
against the well being of Cross Riverians.

UNIOSUN Best Graduating Student Reveals Secret Behind His Excellent Academic Performance…See Details

A Civil Engineering graduate who emerged
as the ‘Best Graduating’ student of the
Osun State University has made public the
secret behind his success.
The best graduating student of the Osun State
University, Osogbo, Mr. Mubarak Opeyemi Thanni
The best graduating student of the Osun
State University, Osogbo, Mr. Mubarak
Opeyemi Thanni, has revealed the secret
behind his excellent academic
performance.
Thanni said he sacrificed his social life
throughout his undergraduate days in
order to come out with the best grades. He
revealed this during the 6th Convocation
ceremony of the university, in Osogbo,
Thanni.
The graduate of Civil Engineering who was
announced as the best graduating student
of the 2016/2017 set with 4.77 Cumulative
Grade Point Average said that whenever he
got B in any of his courses, he always felt
as if he had failed the course.
He revealed the details in an interview
with Amiloaded and said: “First the secret of
my success is Almighty Allah. Two, dedication.
Three, my family. Four, my colleagues and five, my
illustrious lecturers.
“I said God because I never knew I would make a
first class until the penultimate year (fourth year),
and of course, I never thought I would be the Best
Graduating Student with 4.77 Cumulative Grade
Point Average. It is a surprise to me, too.
“Two, it is dedication because the academic
pursuit took away my social life. It is either A or
nothing else. Whenever I got B, it’s as if I had
failed the course.
“This is also not unconnected with the promise I
made to my parents after my immediate elder
brother, who was then a student of the Lagos State
University, was killed by a stray bullet from a
police officer in Lagos while he was returning from
a bursary exercise. I was in SS3 then and I told my
parents I would try my best to make up for the
loss as much I could.
“Three, it is my parents because they never
doubted me and were always there to provide me
with whatever was needed. Four, my colleagues
with whom we used to do tutorials together. I
taught them just as they taught me. The
relationship was mutually beneficial. When I got to
this school, I was lucky to meet great people. Some
of them are my first roommate, Abdullah
Lookman; Iyiola Akanji, Tijani Akanji, among
others.
“Finally, my lecturers. They did their best to bring
the best out of us. I can never forget them. They
are more than teachers. I can’t mention all of
them, but I surely cannot forget Dr. Bello and Dr.
Olawale. They are true fathers.”

Drama as Wike, NIA Fight Over Ownership Of N13bn Seized By EFCC

It is a battle going on right now between
the Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike
and the DG of National Intelligence Agency
over the ownership of the recovered N13
billion hidden in a building in Ikoyi.
NIA DG, Ayodele Oke and Governor Nyesom Wike
of Rivers State
The controversy surrounding the
ownership of the N13bn ($43.4m, N23m
and £27,000) found by the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission at the
Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos, took a
dramatic turn on Friday evening when
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and
the National Intelligence Agency claimed
ownership of the money.
The National Intelligence Agency on Friday
said the money belonged to it.
A national daily had earlier reported that
the money belonged to the NIA. Sources at
the agency confirmed to one our
correspondents late Friday that the money
belonged to the agency and that it had
written a formal letter to President
Muhammadu Buhari to claim ownership of
the money.
Saturday PUNCH learnt that the NIA, which
is Nigeria’s foreign intelligence service,
explained that the money, which was found
on the seventh floor of the building, was
approved by former President Goodluck
Jonathan for covert operations and security
projects covering a period of years.
The money was said to have been released
in bits during the tenure of a former NIA
director-general. A source said that the
cash was approved before the advent of
the Treasury Single Account.
He stated that the Director-General of the
NIA, Amb. Ayo Oke; the EFCC Chairman,
Mr. Ibrahim Magu; and the National
Security Adviser, Babagana Moguno, had
met over the issue. A Presidency source
also confirmed the meeting to one of our
correspondents.
The NIA source explained that when EFCC
operatives stormed the Ikoyi property on
Wednesday, they were informed that the
said apartment was a safe house of the NIA
from which discreet operations were
carried out.
The EFCC boss, however, rejected all
entreaties from the NIA and entered the
building, breaking the fireproof safes and
taking the money.
The source, who wished to remain
anonymous because he was not authorised
to speak with the media, said, “The money
belongs to the NIA. It is for covert operations and
security projects covering a period of years. The DG
has met with the President, he has explained
everything to him. The President asked him to put
everything into writing and he has done so.
“The entire chain of events was a big
misunderstanding. That place was an NIA safe
house and you have to understand that the NIA
carries out discreet investigation in conjunction
with many agencies across the world.
“On the day the EFCC men gathered around the
house, the NIA reached out to Magu to explain to
him that the money was the property of the
Federal Government and the place was an NIA safe
house. Unfortunately, the EFCC still went ahead to
break down the doors.”
But Wike, who described the claim that the
cash belonged to the NIA as balderdash,
alleged that the immediate past governor of
the state and the current Minister of
Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, kept
the money in the apartment.
As such, the Rivers State governor gave the
Federal Government a seven-day
ultimatum to return the money to the state
government or be ready to face legal
action.
Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt
on Friday night, Wike said the $43m was
part of the proceeds from the sale of a gas
turbine by the immediate past
administration, adding that the gas turbine
was initially built by the Peter Odili
administration.
The governor further challenged the
Federal Government to set up a
commission of inquiry to probe the source
of the huge money found in the flat,
insisting that the funds belonged to Rivers
people and should be returned to the
owners within seven days.
He said, “All these things they are saying that
the $43m belong to the Nigerian Intelligence
Agency is balderdash. When did the NIA begin to
keep money in houses? As I speak to you now, the
Federal Government is so embarrassed.
“I want the President to set up a commission of
inquiry. We don’t want to fight anybody; they
should set up a commission of inquiry or return
our money within seven days. If they don’t, we will
take all necessary legal actions and NIA will come
and prove where they got the money from.
“The $43m is the proceeds of the sale of the gas
turbine sold by the immediate past administration.
The gas turbine was built by the (Peter) Odili
administration. It (gas turbine) was sold to Sahara
Energy.
“The turbine was sold for $319m. But as of May
2015, what was in the account was $204,000. We
will avail ourselves and we will be present at the
commission of inquiry expected to be set up by the
Federal Government. If we are invited, we will
come. There is no contradiction in this at all, but I
know they (FG) will not agree.”
Wike maintained that he would complete
the monorail project if the Federal
Government returned the $43m to Rivers
State, adding that it would be “projects
galore” in the state should the money be
returned back to its original owner.
“Part of the money from the sale of the gas
turbine was used to fund the All Progressives
Congress campaign. We are telling the world that
the money belongs to us. If they (FG) give us the
money, I will complete the monorail project,” he
said.
When contacted, the media aide to Mr.
Rotimi Amaechi, Mr. David Iyofor, said he
would react to Wike’s claim on Saturday
(today).
The money has since been deposited into
the account of the Central Bank of Nigeria
following an interim forfeiture order
granted by a Federal High Court in Lagos.
The court had also ruled that if the owner
of the money did not show up within 30
days, it would be forfeited to the federal
Government permanently.
EFCC keeps mum
All attempts to speak with the spokesperson
for the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, on
Friday proved abortive as his phone
indicated that it was switched off while a
text message sent to his phone was not
responded to.
It’s a security issue –Presidency
When contacted, the Special Adviser to the
President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi
Adesina, directed our correspondent to the
security agencies said to have been
involved in the matter.
“This is not a matter for the Presidency. It is a
security issue and I will advise you to get across to
the agencies mentioned,” he said on the
telephone.
SERAP, CD, others hit EFCC for hiding owners’
identities
But socio-political groups, including the
Socio-Economic Right Accountability
Project and the Campaign for Democracy,
criticised the EFCC for hiding the identities
of the owners of the recently recovered
funds in Lagos and Kaduna.
SERAP and the CD, in separate interviews
with Saturday PUNCH, said that it was anti-
democratic for the EFCC to shield the
identities of the owners of recovered
money.
The SERAP Director, Adetokunbo Mumuni,
said, “Whatever information that the EFCC has
about any money abandoned or found in any place
deserves to be released to the public. In a
democracy, there can’t be opaqueness. This issue
affects public interest and it is against the
collective interest if the EFCC withholds the
identities.
“The EFCC’s action will be contrary to public
policy and anti-democratic if the information is not
released. What will happen if the EFCC is not open
is that it will give room for rumours, which is not
good for democracy.”
In his own remarks, the CD President,
Usman Abdul, said, “The EFCC of recent has
just been playing to the gallery. The APC-led
Federal Government should not take citizens for a
ride. After the denial of the confirmation of the
EFCC Chair, Magu, we have had several seizures in
Kaduna and Lagos states, without anybody having
being identified as the custodians of these monies.
“It is quite laughable that new notes of money,
even hard to get in banks, were found and the
EFCC cannot disclose who committed such acts.”
On his part, the National Publicity
Secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin,
said that it was unfortunate that Magu’s
EFCC out of desperation had thrown
caution to the wind in the desperate
attempt to be in the news and excite the
public.
He stated, “You found such volume of cash
without any attempt to find the owners and you
start a cinema of exhibit. A sergeant IPO who does
that should be fired without benefits.
“You cannot tell me that you cannot trace the title
of a property in Ikoyi at Alausa in a matter of
hours .But it seems Magu is all about anti-
corruption and seduction.
“If Magu fails to disclose the owners of the money,
it means that the anti-corruption war has become
a ‘night of a thousand laughs.’”
Also, the Executive Secretary, Anti-
Corruption Network, Ebenezer Oyetakin,
said, “The fight against corruption must be total,
unambiguous, true in character and content,
transparent in outlook and must not be cloudy in
presentation to the public.”
He said that the shielding of the identity of
the looters in itself was corruption and
detrimental to the success of the fight
against graft.
Oyetakin stated, “The fact that this is fuelling
speculations that those involved are government
officials of the present regime is too bad for the
image of the government that is fighting
corruption.
“This is why I must vehemently call on the EFCC to
do the needful by releasing the names of the
looters. The more reason why the names should be
made known is to serve deterrence against such
practices.
“However, I am more concerned that arresting and
making this type of discovery once in a month is
not the only way to fight corruption or regained
the loots, otherwise fifty years will not be enough
to regain looted funds.”
He called for the re-denomination of the
naira, adding that owners of looted funds
could come out and change their money.
A former chairman of the Peoples
Democratic Party, Adamu Mu’azu was
reported to have said that he knew nothing
about funds recovered at a property
reported to be his in Ikoyi, Lagos.
An online newspaper, The Cable, reported
that Mu’azu, who was the Governor of
Bauchi State from 1999 to 2007, said he got
a bank loan to acquire the land where the
house was built, adding that he sold the
house to pay back the loan.
Another online newspaper, Sahara
Reporters, reported that the Minister of
Transportation, Amaechi, said he had no
connection whatsoever with the apartment
or the money.
He was reported to have said that he did
not own any apartment or house in Lagos,
stating that his only property in Nigeria
was in Abuja.
